Here's a new, free Online resource for kids: http://www.dkfindout.com/us/

 To register, the user needs to confirm that he or she is over 18 and give his or her age to have access to verifiable information on animals and nature, dinosaurs and prehistoric life, Earth, English, history, the human body, math, science, and space. The dkfindout Website might serve as as an alternative resource to use instead of Wikipedia (a source that most teachers won't accept because it lacks true editorial oversight, although the user can certainly click on hyperlinks for documented sources).
